Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
There used to be a dealer on EBay selling loads of these a few years back!!!.... all but dried up now!! I always meant to pick a pair up sometime!!...... but missed out when he stopped selling them !! DRAT!!!
always seem to be unissued too!!!...guess they never caught on.. and I guess in use the buttons would catch on heavy foliage(bad enough in itself!!), break off, then the gaiter itself could just... fall off!!!... not good!!!!!

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
I also thought that the gaitors are not very usefull....
I made a comparison pic of a standard KAZ 03 lightweight jacket and the experimental digital camo version.I like the experimental version more and more....

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
OK, I'm over the shock of seeing one of the experimental pieces in private hands Very, very, very well done! And unissued by the looks of it. Awesome.
The gaiters are a great find as well. I've not seen any pictures of them in use. I have a pair, also unissued. I wonder what they were used for? Parade or guard duty?

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Haha, I knew you will be shocked .I was too when I saw the jacket in the sellers car.
I was sooo nervous because I thought that he never would sell it.Guess I'm the first one who has found one of those pieces.Still can't really believe it.
And I think they didn't used the gaiters very often.

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Yes there is a HBA date stamp-1961.
Found this interesting KAZ 02-pre KAZ 03 gore tex jacket in the similar cut like the now
issued KAZ 03 gore tex jackets.Only small details differ. The ÖBH patch is sewn on the jacket, you can't roll up the hood and button it down. And no velcro for the right arm patch. Also
the snapped button on the bottom of the zipper flap is missing.

Re: Mylle's Austrian Stuff
Finally I couldn't resist and tried the experimental digi KAZ 03 on, along with my
old insignias and beret from my conscript time. It looks even cooler in natural light.
