Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
It's one of my favorite patterns, too. A lot better than the standard US type 3 color desert uniform that was used a few years ago. Which reminds me, I think I only have the jacket and the "not water proof" Goretex set. Do you ever see the 3 color desert stuff on the market?

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
There is no denying the beauty of a properly patched uniform.
This one is definitely a beauty. Not often do I get to see anything from Bulgaria.
Thanks...

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
@Steve, not really, the 3 coloured stuff can be very rarely seen here and if so then either in useless sizes or way to expensive ...
You're welcome comrade ripcord ... well I will upload a few more bits and pieces of my BG collection soon which might quench your thirst maybe just a little

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
If you find 3 color trousers, in good condition and the price is not "stupid", I'm definitely interested. Size isn't an issue for me.
Yeah, I've found many Bulgarian militaria dealers think this stuff is worth far more than it is. Especially badging.

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
Steve, I will with pleasure keep an eye out for you. And yes most of the stuff you can see on ebay or other such sites is way overpriced.
People think that westerners don´t know much about the stuff it seems rare for "them", so lets put the prices up ... for me this is crazy and honestly nothing but rip off ... I don´t like this. Because I see the prices here on the markets. I have got at least 3 dealers within a 3 miles radius of where I live and they don´t sell the stuff for 100s of $$$ ... because they don´t sell on ebay, just in little huts ...

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
Yup, it's been that way for a long time This is also quite true with Hungarian, Romanian, and Polish dealers. They have really great stuff, but their prices are totally unrealistic. Maybe they find dumb Airsoft guys who are willing to pay that much, but not collectors.

Hmm. If I can find my 3 color shirt I will have to check for the arm pockets. I don't remember mine having any.

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
Thank you Sal! I am particular proud of the DCU pattern one, since it is not easy to get and usually rather pricey. Now I just need to get a pair of pants for it ... well it will be a quest, but I think I will be lucky eventually. (Hope dies last)
@Steve, please do check, it would be interestig to see if there were pocketless jackets made, too. Since I am not aware of pocketless ones in the DCU pattern.

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
I found my 3 color desert shirt! Funny, it was actually where it should be
It does have arm pockets, however they are typical top button flap, not size zipper.

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
good to hear that you've found it and that's very interesting with the pockets. Do you have any pics by any chance? Is / was it produced in BG? A former BG Soldiers told me that the first DCU desert camo uniforms fo BG forces in Iraq/Afghanistan where apparently supplied directly from US Army stocks ... maybe yours is a modified US Shirt???

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
At long last here are pictures of my jacket from 2011! I'd appreciate some extra eyes to help me find trousers I also need a name tape, rank, and armed forces badge if anybody can help me out with that.
I have a pretty good number of pictures showing this type of jacket in use. Every one of them has the green ISAF patch on the right shoulder and the standard desert armed forces badge on the left. Most soldiers have solid sand background name tapes and rank, but some have the Bulgarian desert DPM name tape and/or rank.
Here is an article (in Bulgarian) on the corruption scandal surrounding these uniforms. In particular the "Gore-Tex" uniform that wasn't either Gore-Tex or even waterproof!

Re: my bulgarian desert camo uniform
sorry for the late reply ... awesome thanks Steve! ... I wasn't aware Apolo akse made the ones with the button flaps ... I know the story about the corruption scandal it was here all over the news going on for ages ... A friend of mine, ex airborne, who done 2 tours in A-Stan also told me about it. they had massive problems there due to the uniforms being, cheap and fake and what not ... however the stuff made by Apolo id really good ... as mentioned before I will check for some trousers for you. Also badges, name tape and rank is no problem, I can get it for you. What rank are you after? ...
Best,
Alex
