Nice pieces, Joe, Finns.   Really impressive old school spark guys..S

Thanks, Ripcord! Now, here's a really early lighter used by the military of both sides in the civil war (yeah, I know that matches were invented by a French guy, circa early 1800's; just having some fun with y'all!):

    Joe,

Thanks! I really don't collect them either, but people know I collect militaria, so they bring me everything. I was with 1st ID originally in basic in 91, C-1-26, and again in 92, part of 93 and 94 with HHC-2-101 MI Bn. My favorite unit along with MFO. Did a stint with CentCom in 93, and finished with 300th MP(PW) before transfer to IRR in 96.

I've got a few more including MAAG Cambodia , a WW1 trench lighter, a couple of mine, and since you started it, I've got originl matches from the Civil War too!

    Fins...

Impressive, Fins! And, thanks for your service in the BRO. My unit, B Company of the 1st Bn, 2nd Infantry -- known as the "Black Scarves" since that's what we wore -- apparently no longer exists. But, I think our 'sister' unit, the 2nd Battalion of the 2nd Infantry, still exists ... but is no longer part of the 1st ID.

    Regards,
    Joe

Here's one I had made up in Vietnam.  Covered over the top since my military service number is actually my social security number:
