WWII USMC Field Desk Empty WWII USMC Field Desk

    Post by AndrewA74 Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:49 pm

    Hello,
I was at the flea market yesterday leaving a good friend of mine's booth, when he told me he'd like to give me something. Well, long story short, I came home with a metal field desk. The only thing it's missing is the bottom cover and the typewriter. I set it up in my room, but I couldn't help but thinking what should I put in the hole that the typewriter goes in? I was looking around my room when I saw a 50 cal ammo can. So, you can guess whats in the hole now. I can't find any info on the internet about this being USMC, there are no marks that I saw on the desk itself. The legs detach from it and store underneath. Can anyone shed any light on it? Thanks.
    Andrew

PS: The desk is now comfortably assimilated into my room.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, the grenade needs to be stripped, but I'm just gonna leave it the way it is. The grenade dated 44 or 43.

Nice desk. My mom got me field drawer a while ago. I can take picture of it if you want. I'm unsure its date.

I spy M1955 vest and M1956 web gear. Smile

COOL! I've never seen one like that! Is there a date on it at all?
