    Nice! It's always good to have a commercial piece that was for sure used by a soldier instead of bought off eBay brand new.

    I still can't believe that military forces were deploying in 2004 without body armor!

    Hi,

    Until the Uzbin Valley ambush (August 2008), Only the special forces had modern body armor, with MOLLE type Pouch Attachment System.
    The other troops had FRAG S3 body armor like this one:

    These kind of vests were a bit heavy for patrolling.
