Two Trials smocks, one Ripstop, one a Field Smock with a print I've never seen before, it looks like it has been ink jetted onto the material if that makes sense...

Did you just get the "ink jet" one off of eBay? I was curious about that one. The pictures were terrible so that's one reason I stayed away from it. Is the dark green DPM on the inside of it?
The smock looks to be in standard ripstop material, or does it feel/look different than the stuff used on the production smocks?

That's right Steve, although the Ripstop Smock states trial, this must have been the final version as it's identical to others I have.
Yes, I got the Field Mock a few weeks ago, the inside is the green colour. The Dpm is really different to anything I have seen before it really looks like it's been painted/sprayed on...the beige is a really bold colour on the Smock.
The material Is similar to some other of the Trials pieces I have, very stiff and rigid. From what I can see the cut of the jacket is again exactly like the production Smocks albeit the pattern.

Thanks for the follow ups. OK, so your ripstop smock is probably a final pre-production sample, the last time for government to raise objections before huge runs. That makes sense.
Your other one is something that apparently was intended to test possible recoloring (recolouring if you will ) DPM, so they made some cheaply made cloth and stitched it together using an established pattern. That also makes sense. I have a couple of pieces from the PECOC trials that were made from inkjet printed cloth, so it's consistent with that.
