After searching the internet I believe this is a Skoshi Tiger insignia from the Vietnam War. How it got on a Belgian beret from 1977 is anyone's guess.

Not unlike the Panther on shield 19 Rgt d'Artillerie a Cheval, but if it is I do not know why it isn't presented as the full Emblem. Forget that, facing the wrong way......
