Not sure if anybody will find this interesting or not, but figured I should post and find out
In 1958 the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) developed it's famous Sumpftarn uniform. It was produced until either 1962 or perhaps 1963. After that the BGS moved to a blue-gray uniform in almost the same cut, with some modifications to the trousers (button pass through pocket) in 1965. This uniform was used until 1967 when the 2nd Model Sumpftarn uniform was introduced. Production continued until 1976 when it was replaced by a newly redesigned Moosgrün uniform. Collectively these uniforms are referred to as "Einsatzanzug", which means "Action Uniform". They were intended for field activities such as field maneuvers, search and rescue, and border patrol (1st Model Sumpftarn excluded).
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s Polizei forces were equipped with nearly identical uniforms in various shades of gray. For the most part they followed the same design as the BGS uniforms, but with their own quirks. The most wildly different is the one used by Schelswig-Holstein, which was a copy of the ultra rare BGS Sumpftarn trials jacket (c.1957). Only Berlin Polizei used one in camouflage, which was a variant of BGS Sumpftarn.
I'll post some pictures as I have time.
