'rigger-made' chest pouches Empty 'rigger-made' chest pouches

Post by Wolverine Wed Dec 13, 2017 10:18 pm

Here is a typical example of a chest rig that was locally made up by material techs for soldiers in the combat arms during the late 1990s and early 2000s. It is basically similar in design to the British DPM NI chest rig. The same type of material and hardware was also used to make small field packs for carrying NBC clothing and/or other kit. Once the new Cadpat gear was introduced, these seem to have gradually gone out of style.

Note that the soldier has used the small type 'Canadian' buttons to make pace beads.

Interesting. I was wondering about rigger made items ever since I saw this photograph way back when. Still think it might be something like Eagle Industries, but I don't know much about Canook gear.

Yes, the one in the picture looks to be commercially-made. Also just visible is the tubular frame from the C2 universal rucksack; it seems to be fitted with the shoulder straps from a 1982 pattern ruck.

No idea, but it looks as though he has fitted a PASGT desert cover on his CG634 helmet.

Could be a modified British Cs 95 DDPM suit
