    A friend gave me this - he found it while cleaning out an old house. This is roughly 16 x 22 inches.

    It's in nice condition ... is it real, and if so what would this have been used for?

    The leather reinforcements at the corners would suggest ship-board use. The wind can be pretty hard on flags out on the open water.

    It might be real. It'd be a small crafts flag for patrol boats or landing barges.

    There are any markings? Nothing at all? Maybe on the leather strengthened parts?
