Post by HEB Tue Jun 11, 2019 4:13 pm

    Hello Guys,

i got this vest with inlets and modified it with some pouches.

Was it really in use that way? I did not find any photos.

I have seen images with those types of pouches attached to the vest, as well as the older vinyl green pouches from the M1971 equipment.

The pouches were designed to be worn on a standard belt or on the frag vest.

Nice images of the gasmask pouch in use!

I just noticed that quite a few of those frag vests in the above pictures don't have the Kevlar panels in them! That's strange. It's like an expensive load bearing vest.

What would be the correct nomenclature name for this type of vest and equipment?

the vest is called "Splintervest cover" or just body armor. There is no special name on the label.

The pouches are FNC magazine pouches, grenade pouche and a holster. Sorry I dont know, wheather there are special names. Sometimes it`s referred as M90, but I am not quite sure.

Is the pouch over the left breast pocket the grenade pouch?

That’s a pretty cool piece thanks for showing it. Do you know a good place to buy some of the different pouches for this kit?

    Hello HEB,
I am the one who gave you the pouch, and sold you the arktis coat.
The reason the pouch is a bit different is since it was made by Thierry Dispas from Morane tactical.
He made quite a lot of one off bits in the 2000's before standardizing to his copy of the arktis chest rig.
