Re: M84 non ripstop combat trousers.
I am also a huge Danish fan Rip, I have a set of the light weight type. Here's a reminder of the thread where we all put our heads together to try and figure out what is what:

It seems there's a lack of official nomenclature for this uniform, so I've labeled it "M/01 2nd Model Lightweight". As in the 2nd modification of the M/01 standard pattern, but in light weight non-ripstop cloth. I don't know why they fooled around with three types of cloth. Not that I'm complaining, because it's more Danish stuff to have

Re: M84 non ripstop combat trousers.
It really is amazing how well 3 colors worked on these types of Danish uniforms.
Really had no idea that these non ripstop lightweight uniforms even existed.
Always a good idea to share info..

Re: M84 non ripstop combat trousers.
My guess was always that they are ment to be used as temperate/colder weather combat-pants.

Re: M84 non ripstop combat trousers.
Until the push for a single, universal uniform there are a total of about 6 basic uniform types for European nations, but I don't think a single country ever used them all concurrently:
1. Desert (ripstop) - summer time
2. Desert (solid) - winter time
3. Temperate (ripstop) - general purpose
4. Temperate (solid) - general purpose
5. Tropical (solid, light weight) - warm weather areas
6. Tropical (ripstop) - warm weather areas
Denmark uses 1, 4, 5, and 6. Germany uses 2, 4, and 5. Spain used 2 and 4 until the 2000s then it changed to 1 and 4 and now 1 and 3. Hungary used 1, 2, and 4 for most of the ISAF time period... etc. etc. etc.
Of the countries I can think of, Denmark is the only one that used 4 of the 6 uniforms concurrently, the rest 2 or 3. The Danes like to be different

Re: M84 non ripstop combat trousers.
While getting a set of m/11 ready for sale on eBay tonight I noticed that the hot weather version (LET) is identical to this variant of m/01 Rip posted to start off the conversation. Not only in cut, but also in the 50/50 cotton/poly non-ripstop cloth. However, the weave appears to be different. The m/01 cloth seems a lot thinner and looser than the m/11. Though that could be perception.
