Sorry to say that but it looks very weird IMHO..... The right arm pocket looks like thrown on, like it wants to say: we try but we can't.

Closer to the truth than you realise. The trials variant only retained the legacy pen pocket on the upper left sleeve.All other pockets removed.
Until comments were made at a "roadshow" of the new kit along the lines of "You gave us a pen pocket,but where are you supposed to keep your notebook/phone etc etc".
The Right sleeve pocket wasn't on the tender specs so I believe it is just as you say. An afterthought just thrown on
IMO had they added a UBACS pocket to each sleeve and moved the pen pocket to just above the wrist the shirt would have been more practical and symmetrical.

i agree, such a terrible cut uniform. you really cant have unisex its either s*** for all or made for gender. They always try it to save money and it makes it worse for all.

) 2019 pattern shirt being rolled out now. Lopsided sleeve pocket design fixed.

We only have one style of shirt in NZ but there is an instruction for tailoring if females require the lower hem altered (slits added) So we have done the reverse. Do the 2019 shirts retain the slits?

Yeah.The 2019 shirts have the slits.I haven't been able to examine a 2019 pattern shirt myself yet but I am hoping they have done some outside the box thinking and put the pen pocket INSIDE the UBACS pockets on the left sleeve.
