This just arrived from MitchellsAdventure website. The description on the website: "Found amongst a stock lot of M-65 jackets surplused by the Australian Army. These jackets were in a carton simply marked "TRIAL WINTER PATTERN". The jackets do not have any other tags or markings except the size tag in the neck."

Does anyone have any other info about this? Thanks Very Happy

A few more pictures, I'm not familiar with M65 jackets so I'm wondering what the foldable triangular part of the cuff is supposed to be/used for

100% bullshit. Just a marketing ploy - not used by the Australian military in any capacity. I think the fold-out part of the sleeve is just extra protection for the back of the hands in inclement weather.

The lack of infos about this piece seemed very suspicious... Thanks!

I remember seeing these in Disposal stores in the early 1990s.

Labeled UAE or Bahrain or something like that.

I saw these in Mitchells in the 1980s labled as Experimental and Korean
Only ever in that same Medium size. I did think then that pattern was reasonable and that they were too well made to be simply junk copies.

Those jackets are for Saudi National Security Council personnel, who have since replaced it with a digital pattern. Not sure why they were labeled Aussie or Korean, though perhaps they were made in Korea. AFAIK most modern Saudi stuff is either indigenously made or made in China.

i'd guess they were made in South Korea. They were very active making stuff for the Middle East in those days (before China) and that big "M" size tag is something I seem to recall being associated with them.

Possibly a later version of this one (UAE)?

It's definitely Saudi, though I was wrong about the initial ID; Camopedia had it as an SNSC pattern, but Giles has a jacket in the pattern with an old patch for the Saudi Special Security Forces.
According to Global Security.org prior to 1991 it was called the Ministry of Interior Company, then Emergency Forces of the Ministry of Interior in 1988, and Emergency Force of the Central Region in 1989, then in 1998 from Force to Forces.

Some vests in the pattern during a parade in 2000, according to Getty these are "Saudi sappers from the Hajj special forces."

And not to be confused with the very similar but different pattern shaped grayish desert DPM worn by Saudi NG forces during the Gulf War:
