HUH?!? What the Hell is this all about? My first impression is commercial. I wish the tags weren't so faded! But it is possible that the Italians experimented with some other patterns as a replacement for Woodland, which itself is a copy of another nation's uniform.
Gilles, did any stories come along with the uniform?
Hi, Ochtrup is a city close to the Netherlands, but on the German side of the border. I didn't manage to find any information on any company called "Van Deloen AG" or "Van De Loen AG" (both spelled oe or ö). But on the other hand 1995 is 17 years back - the company could have been closed for several years...
Just a guess: could it be an OPFOR uniform?
The NATO-led peacekeeping mission IFOR was running from December 1995 to December 1996, then replaced by SFOR.
This pattern is a mistery, in Italy nobody know it. There are Italian uniforms with spanish camouflage because Induyco completed order for Italian army with wrong cloth but Slovenian pattern???
One part of the mystery is the cloth itself. It doesn't appear to be Slovene manufactured. The colors are not exactly the same and closeups of the cloth seem to show a different weave.
I agree that is not Spanish at all. It is, in fact, Italian. I matched some of the shapes perfectly to both M92 Desert and M92 Woodland uniforms. The colors, however, are very different from both.
Interesting! Is there a year printed on that label?
