I am wondering if someone here has any experiences with the 68 pattern combat smock?

In what way it compares with the 95 pattern or PCS Smock? Pocketwise and tissuewise?

are the 68Pattern smocks a ventile tissue?

Pocket wise the two upper chest pockets are angled inwards slightly and all are flat onto the smock, not bellowed as with 95's/PCS. There's also no zip open chest "Map" pockets like on 95's/PCS, there's also a pen/compass pocket on the left sleeve and internally you have a poachers pocket with donkey flap fastened by two 4 hole button sewn on buttons and there's one small internal open top chest pocket on the left hand side. All pockets have 4 hole sewn on buttons.

It's fully lined with a poplin material unlike 95's and PCS that are only lined along the top portion of the smock with the same material as the rest of the smock. The storm flap for the zip (which is metal unlike on 95's/PCS) is secured with sewn on buttons instead of velcro and the hood is detachable but with no wire storm bit. PCS hoods are permanently affixed, 95's hoods depend on the era of smock as to whether they are detachable or permanently affixed. 68 smocks also have reinforced elbows unlike 95's and PCS and the cuffs are also secured by buttons unlike 95's/PCS which use velcro.

Pockets are sewn on flat so they hold less than later Bellows type pockets.   Not sure of the material, but similar to used on windproof clothing of the time so not particularly designed to breathe.

Heavy when wet, and DPM goes a lot darker when wet so not very effective camouflage when whet.... from a distance when wet they look almost black.
