Need help identifying a mystery khaki cotton fatigue/work shirt with elbow padding/reinforcement

Don't you just hate it when the spec tag is either missing or faded out? Thank God for the Internet and helpful folks all over the world! Don't recall when or where I picked this up but it's intriguing.

The three items which will help identify this are: buttons, design of the pocket flap and button closure and the reinforced elbows.

I know my American and Israeli stuff when when it comes to the rest of the world, I'm stuck without a spec tag or stenciling.

I don't know why but something says: Eastern European or perhaps Spain/Portugal??

I'm looking forward to learning what this is!

Any other details you can spare like the decade(s) of use?

Spanish '70s -'80s , and early '90s . This was the go to uniform for Spanish Ejercito ( army ) when Camo was not required.

The one you have is officially designated M67. It's unofficial name is "Garbanzo" due to it's light brown appearance. This was the standard Spanish uniform into the late 1970s. After that things get very complicated There are several uniforms based on this design with various feature differences, but all of them with some degree of green color. Some of the green uniforms were intended for field use, others for barracks and/or ceremonial occasions.

Many thanks for the additional information on the Spanish shirt. Yes, it totally makes sense to call anything khaki "garbanzo". On the other hand, we Israelis wore the s*** out of khaki uniforms in the early 1900s through the 1960s but never called them: "hummus"....

I noticed that you are an Administrator; why is it an arbitrary decision before a new member can start to use a thumbnail image?

I don't know The rules were set up by someone else eons ago. My assumption is to stop people from coming here and on their first post trying to advertise stuff for sale or fishing for something vs. contributing to the educational purpose of this forum. It's a common problem with forums of all types, so that's my best guess.

Thanks for the answer. Arbitrary sucks; should be more human interaction in screening people. And yes, it's endemic to most if not all discussion boards.
