Russian camo uniforms

A guy sent me a link of a shop which offers lots of neat uniforms. They are a little expensive but I wasn't aware of such big variety of camo pattern. I think I should get some of them but are they real?

Hello Philip,

The uniforms are produced by commercial manufacturers and some of these uniforms are used by Ministry of Internal Affairs(MVD)troops. You can search by manufacturer on the website. Based on my collecting experience SPOSN, NPOSM and ANA make the better uniforms. Uniforms made by the other manufacturers will probably disappoint you - especially SPLAV - because their uniforms are not very high quality.

I used to be big into keeping up with Russian camouflage uniforms, and as many Russian patterns as there are, I must admit I've never seen some of these at all before. I'm not saying they're not totally legit, but I'd still be wary. Lots of neat patterns, but if you're looking for true Russian-issue, you may be out of luck.

The one that you said was similar to a Russian uniform in BDU cut seems to be a commercial uniform with a Russian pattern. I was looking through some of the other uniforms in that style and they look exactly like the Propper or Tru-Spec uniforms, just with a Russian camo pattern.

If you're using them for airsoft or hiking or whatever, they'd be a cool investment, but if you're looking for real-deal to add to a collection, I'd go elsewhere to be sure you're getting what you're paying for. My first resource would be Trident Military or another reliable source you may know of.

Good to know, actually! Someone sent me a link to this website just last week. Somehow I missed this thread when it was fresh. I would have bought some stuff from him if his prices weren't so high! I also doubt those WW2 sets are genuine.

Yeoch. There is nothing worse than a dishonest seller who actually has good stuff. It makes people tempted to gamble, which keeps the dishonest seller in business.

Cool pics!! I haven't seen either of those uniforms yet. Strange that the Indians would move towards a French like camouflage pattern. I don't see how that would be a very effective pattern for the border regions of India. The Russian camo, on the other hand, looks very good.

Very interesting photos indeed. The uniforms are new and the use of the Tavor rifle by the Indians really got my attention.

The Russian new camo looks like british type uniform( big buttons on sleaves and pants)

I noticed that, too, except they don't have those awesome "Canadian buttons" with the webbing straps run through so they don't fall off. Interesting how "bright" the flora pattern looks, also.

I WANT a set of that Mountain troops flora! That stuff is awesome!

Does this uniform have any manufacturing stamps or tags? If so would you be able to post a photo of the stamp/tag? It would be interesting to see where the uniform was manufactured.
