Jacket:
6 button front closure with the buttons concealed by a flap. 2 chest pockets with Velcro closure. Button cuffs. Pockets on both upper sleeves with Velcro closures. Reinforced elbows. Small pocket on the right lower sleeve with Velcro closure. Adjustable elastic waist. Internal chest pocket with button closure. There is a swatch of cloth, with a button attached, sewn inside the jacket to be used for uniform repairs. Jacket has a Vera Company tag, an MVD stamp along with size markings.
Pants:
High waist pants with 5 belt loops and elasticized hip sections. 5 button fly. 2 slash hip pockets. Pockets on each thigh with Velcro closures. Knee pockets with Velcro closures that hold removable knee pads. Elastic pant cuffs with an additional pant lining that tucks into the boots that allows the cuffs to be bloused. One back pocket on the left seat with Velcro closure. A 2 compartment pocket is located on the back left leg that has Velcro closures. There is a knife pocket on right leg that has a flap with a three snap closure.
Vest:
This is a one-size-fits-all vest that has 3 strap and buckle adjustments on each side of the vest. The front of the vest has 4 snap front closures, 2 AK magazine pockets with Velcro and snap closure, pistol pocket with Velcro and snap closure, pistol magazine pocket with Velcro closure. 5 other front pockets 2 with snap closures and 3 others with Velcro closures. There are 3 pockets on the back of the vest that have snap closure pockets.
Produced in the early 1990’s by the Vera factory in Saint Petersburg, the pants and jacket have MVD markings and 3-digit factory size stamps. The jacket has a Vera tag in the collar.
The uniform’s unique woodland camouflage can be identified by the 3 finger pattern shown in the photo.
You can see the 3 finger pattern just above the sleeve pocket on the uniform worn by the MVD combat trooper in the photo below. This 3 finger pattern can also be seen on the left shoulder of his vest.
