Re: Webbing: British?
Yep, looks british to me.
If you got this from SPG, they are just cobbled together sets from all different times and places. I paid about $10 for my set.

Re: Webbing: British?
British P-58 webbing. SPG sent me a smelly pile of these a few years ago. Some items were near mint, others were horrible. None had water bottle pouches, unfortunately.

Re: Webbing: British?
Darn...hoped I'd get the ID. Everyone beat me to it.
No doubt British P-58 webbing. That set actually looks to be in really good condition, judging by your photo.
If you got it from SPG you got a great deal, because sometimes their used stuff can vary in condition greatly. Around Christmas of '08 I ordered some "grab bag" of used Euro mil-surp clothing and it was interesting to note that some items (like the Dutch combat shirt and East German wool trousers) looked like they'd never been worn, and other items (namely the Dutch trousers) looked like they had been through hell and back.
Another time, I ordered a used British S2000 field jacket and S95 trousers from there, and had almost the same experience. The trousers were visibly used and the jacket (save for a small tear and the fact it was actually a 95 ripstop) was essentially brand-new.
Sorry for my lengthy SPG tale.
Good find, though!

Re: Webbing: British?
Hi Merc
Ive just put my old 58 patt web set back together, it was looking a little sad, (originally used it around late 80's) still needs tidying up, I'm so pleased I never got shot of it as it's interesting looking at it now. I'll try and get some pics up on here of it but as you'll see it doesnt have the two rear pouches or kidney pouches as they were called because most guys thought they were crap as did I, we used to use water bottle pouches as the buckles were better and you could still fit a mess tin in them, also we used (not everyone) a roll pin type belt buckle as opposed to the very dated type 58 patt which was really awkward when wearing a noddy suit (NBC)
Anyhow I'll stop waffling and get some pics up asap
Cheers GR

Re: Webbing: British?
Oh, it isn't mine. I saw it on craig list and wanted to know if it's worth a purchase. I passed on it. But thanks for comments.
