VEGETATO: real & fake

I hope this topic will be some kind of useful for many modern italian stuff collectors.

THE PROBLEM: Italy is plenty of replicas of VEGETATO pattern; few ones made in China, others directly made in Italy.

Why?

Original ones are made by Maritzatex, a Romanian company. The operators are not happy with
the original issued bdu. It fades quickly and it's easy to rip.

most known FAKES & UNOFFICIALS

SBB company (it seems made in Italy), the favourite copy dressed by soldiers, poor quality but better than original and...low price



CSC company, poor quality



PX Prato company(full made in Italy) for COMSUBIN & Special Forces (Comsubin is similar to Navy Seals):
as far I know, they have never won the supply to the army... they sell much to airsoft players, it is very resistant to fading, good quality & high price



SOD Gear (italian company, made in?), good quality & high price

DEFCON5 (italian company, probably made in China), poor quality

Tactical & Tecnology (italian company, probably made in China) with ACU style cut, poor quality


THE ORIGINAL, the only one! but... operators doesn't like it

Maritzatex, made in Romania

In that period the army supply was won by many companies, here below the list:

ziofester, I'm big fan of vegetato, but are you sure that maritzatex is Romanian firm? there was some publication in bulgarian newspapers and internet that maritzatex is Bulgarian firm and has won the competiton for suplying some uniforms for the Italian army and Financial police, which make sence becous the river Maritza is in Bulgaria and has noting to do with Romania(and the firm Maritzatex ( http://www.techno-link.com/clients/martex/mari.htm )is sitiuated in city of Plovdiv which is on the way of that river.
But anyway I am agree with you about pure qualities of their taxtile...great article anyway!
