I saw this on eBay today and couldn't resist doing some research:
http://cgi.ebay.com/US-Army-MULTI-CAMOUFLAGE-Cold-Filed-Pants-Trousers-L-R-/320539155695?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa19f5cef#ht_2462wt_825
These are used trousers in the old M-65 winter trouser style, but in Multicam. The DLA number says it was made in 1995, which of course is bunk. I checked on the company name and it was a contractor for M-65 style trousers sometime in the 1990s. It was banned from future US government contracts in 1997, reason unknown. The company apparently used to be based in New Bedford, MA but was moved to Puerto Rico at some point. They do not seem to still be in business.
The NSN provided in the listing is missing two digits. If you add the likely missing digits ("01") it still doesn't come up in the NSN database. Though it's definitely close to NSNs for Woodland M-65s so I think the seller simply mistyped it.
It would appear someone took the labels out of a real set of M-65 trousers and stuck them on a Chinese (likely) knockoff of M-65 winter trousers.
Buyer definitely beware
Steve
