The operation desert shield looks like it may be a morale patch made in Kuwait before desert storm (Desert Shield preceded it.

The subdued diamond (sort of) with "follow me" on it is the US Army Infantry School out of Ft. Benning, Georgia.

The black patch with the eagle on it and the Airborne tab is the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of the 101st Airborne Division

I dont know what the blue badge is, the blue hawks patch, or the country of origin of the stripes are, British?

Yeah, just noticed that the photo is cut off.... The 2 that are cut off are British coporal chevrons and (I think) a Scots Guards flash.
Its that Blue Hawks badge that really is a mystery :S

The "Blue Hawks" patch is a squadron patch for the U.S. Navy Helicopter Attack Squadron (Light) 5. The unit was in service until October 20, 1988

Desert Shield patch was one sold at surplus stores and some of the base PX's. I had one on one of my tanker jackets and got away with it, but it was entirely un-authorized. There were a couple other ones of these too. I still have a few of them. One was an updated version saying Operation Desert Storm, the other was the same with a yellow band across it saying "Mission Accomplished". There's also a smaller shield shaped one.
