I'm definitely no expert on TS but I think yours are commercial hunting pants. Any other thoughts?

Yip they are hunting camo from the 80's as Kammo-man said. There is no real evidence that this pattern was ever used in Vietnam although there are guys out there claiming sets to have been. They know someone who was in Vietnam and who wore the suit etc. Its close to Vietnamese Marine Corps but not close enough unfortunately. It might be a rip stop material but unfortunately even though it is a nice pattern i don't believe it to be a period piece. Which is a real pity because i have a set in my cupboard :-)

Are you really gonna wear the original tiger stripes pants for the impression? I'm sorry but I would rather to see the airsofters wear this pants than using the original one.

Tiger pant Empty tiger pants COMMERCIAL...

Post by ripcord Fri Feb 08, 2013 4:43 pm

    Hey all,

This is the very first piece of camo I have ever owned.

Have had it since 1971...I think I was 15...

It is obviously a commercial item.

I purchased the pants and a matching shirt that has gone missing eons ago.

The set was being offered in the classified section of a magazine ( dont remember which ).

I still love it despite the fact that it is not a genuine tiger...

    Hi there,

I have a set just like it myself. I think its a cool tiger pattern even though Richard Johnson describes it as one of the worst patterns ever made. I don't think so!! I might be able to get you the matching jacket if you are interested. I tink i know where there is one available. Let me know and i can get you a price if you want.....

    Cheers

    Tiger pant Empty Tiger pants

Post by ripcord Sat Feb 09, 2013 3:01 pm

    Hey Mil....

I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Many would disagree and say the Tiger was one of the most effective.

I just think it is super cool.

Thank you for the offer to find a matching jacket.

Will pass because I dont actively look for commercial items.

I simply like the pants because they remind me of a bygone era,

but dont really want to chase something I dont really need...

    Thanks again, rip...
