I've had this in my collection since 1995. It is a uniform from Norway and is badged to a Major in the Airborne.

I’m very sorry to say to say this, but this uniform does not belong to a Major in the Norwegian airborne. The shoulder patch is that of the 5th Defence District and the national insignia on the right sleeve was used in international operations only, so this combination is just not possible. This kind of national insignia was also sown 2 cm from the shoulder seem, so this one is on way too low, and the smaller Norwegian flag insignia should be used instead. The golden parachute wing indicates that the wearer is jump qualified and it’s also possible that he has served in the AB Jeger Cmd for some time, but if he was active in the very small Norwegian AB unit the wing would be in silver and of course the shoulder patch would be that of the AB Jeger Cmd. The bright side is that the old M83 parachute wing can go for as much as 100US, but in my eyes it looks to be a put together uniform.

Well....that sucks. Glad I didn't pay too much money for it. I'll probably put the parachute wings up for sale then on Ebay.NorBn wrote:I’m very sorry to say to say this, but this uniform does not belong to a Major in the Norwegian airborne. If you check out this thread with a Norwegian uniform used in the UNIFIL mission you will find the same national insignia that is on your uniform and when used it was worn on the left shoulder, not the right:

In this thread you will find the silver parachute wing used by the AB Jeger Cmd:

If you remove the national insignia and put on the correct (you can have one from me for free) you still have a nice Norwegian uniform belonging to a Major in the 5th Defence District that is qualified to wear the Norwegian parachute wing.
