Norwegian UNOSOM uniform

One of my favourites in my collection. At first it looks like a put together fake uniform with both Norwegian and US patches/ badges, but I can guarantee you that it's 100% legit and was used this way

Wow, I did not know M/81 woodland pattern was ever issued to Norwegian forces, let alone MP's.

What is the explanation for this and when was this UN mission undertaken, please?

God jul saltefanden. I'm not sure why some of the Norwegians in the UNOSOM mission in Somalia were issued US uniforms, but I found a few pictures when I searched for information about this uniform (I'll find them and post when I find them). I believe the mission was in the early 90s, 1991-1992 or something like that:

I have found very little information about this mission and maybe it was put in the shadow by the other "show" taking part in Op Deseret Storm?

Norwegian troops wearing US Woodland AND  Chocolate Chip type  cammies ( 1st pattern , US desert uniform)...Very interesting.  Great photo.

If you look closely the choc chip cammies still have US insignia and tapes on them i.e. they are US servicemen, not norwegians

Even the Swedish guard force that guarded the Swedish field hospital in Somalia in the early 90´s was issued the US desert uniforms. The 90K pattern wasn´t introduced until 2000-something.
