    This is a dress uniform from a Commando in the Zaire Armed Forces from the Mobutu time period. The uniform is named to a Captain Diomi-Nzozi. Year of manufacture appears to be 1988. All insignia, aside from the Commando patch, are bullion. All buttons have a leopard pouncing outwards.

    Be curious as to what's become of the former owner of the uniform with all the coups, wars, assassinations taking place in zaire, dem. rep. of congo etc.

    Just looked it up, Arzoni is still in business in Brussels Rue de Ransbeek 218, 1120 Brussel

    I have often wondered the same thing about the Captain. I've tried to look him up online, but found nothing. It always piqued my interest as well.

    I've also got a General's dress uniform from Zaire and two camo uniforms I'll post when I get a chance. I have always had a weakness for militaria from Zaire.

    Good one Arch! I have a Zaire dress uniform too, also made in Belgium. Doesn't look like this one, though. I'll try to take pics of it. The missing metal jump wings go for far more than I paid for the uniform itself, so I think that will remain missing!
