Yemeni Police Blue DPM

The second one that is not the usual find around, is a blue DPM pattern camo. I picked it up in a surplus shop in Damascus, Syria 2 years ago. I had no clue about its origin but i found it interesting and unique, so i thought it should be a part of my collection.

Usually the DPM pattern is copied all over the globe and the closest to this one is the blue-greysh used by the Iraqi police but that one follows the woodland 3 colour DPM. Mine is a blueish version if the 2 tones desert DPM… It took me about a year to find some info and I am 90% sure that it is used by the Yemen police.

you can see there's definitely 2 kinds of blue dpm in yemen.. a 2 color one and the more common 3 (or 4?) colors.

There's quite a bit of uniform sharing in that area. Either directly (i.e. same exact uniforms) or indirectly (i.e. same/similar camouflage). However, the photos of Yemen police are definitely not 2 color variant, so it's possible they don't wear it at all and instead only Kuwait does.

yes agree the yemeni is definitely not 2 colors.
Also info came from a Arab collector who has every single kuwait uniform ever issued... and he said without a doubt they are kuwait indeed and not that hard to get (i guess if you're in kuwait or middle east). One point that was brought up was that it could be either surplus that was sent to iraq, or captured uniforms during first golf war, but he really doubt any of it is true... so i already updated my notes to kuwait police uniform

See my post in the Kuwaiti police thread about the 2 colour camo uniform, I recieved it via a trader friend direct from the British manufacturer who was contracted to make them for the Kuwait Government.
