Breast badges from Yugoslav National Army
After graduation on military academies, officers of YNA (armed forces of Socialistic Federative Republic of Yugoslavia) during their service were going to numerous military schools: War school – National defense school; JNA high military political school (for Army, Navy and Air Force); Staff and commanding school / tactical and operational; Staff and commanding school / branches and Military-medicinal academy of YNA.
Military academies are high schooling institutions where cadets were schooled to become officers in Yugoslavian armed forces. (Cadets must have finished high military or civilian schools). With that different courses were organized, science and research programs were performed. Academies also organize schooling for bachelors and doctors degrees. Academies were organized for all branches and specialties of armed forces.
Military high schools for branches and services were educational institutions of Yugoslav National Army with task to educate commanding staff (non commissioned officers) for work in units and institutions in armed forces. Beside that, their tasks were, in accordance with armed forces needs, to specialized and reeducate NCO-s staff. In JNA were following high schools: Army military high school, Army technical military high school, Supply high school, Medical military high school, Military high school for musicians, Air Force technical military high school and Navy technical military high school.
