DESERT DPM SAS PARKA Old cut? Empty DESERT DPM SAS PARKA Old cut?

    Hello!
Bought this one a couple years ago (10-14) It`s identical in cut to the SAS parka-made of heavy weight cotton, two way zipper marked YKK. Label is unfortunately to washed to read. Only info I came accros was an Ebay auction describing it as a GIBRALTAR type DPM issued to RMC and SAS units. Don`t know if it`s true but the jacket looks just fine:)
    Enjoy

    Hi Casper.

Love this Parka, very cool old school pre S95 type, not to sure about the Gibraltar aspect, can't say I've ever heard of this before...but that don't mean much Laughing Wink

It's certainly "SAS" style, without the wired hood etc,my guess would be Operation Granby issue, pity the label is illegible ,but as you know that's common with Older Brit kit Wink

Either way,it is well cool, Love it mate Cool

Thanks! I have another one but I think that`s a commercial item- it`s exactly the same as the Arctic smock- with wired hood, pockets on both sleeves, except that`s black:)

Only thing I found about the "Gibraltar" DDPM is on Wikipedia-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Armed_Forces_uniforms - they are telling that "2-color earth tone in light sand and medium brown. A small quantity of 2-color sand/brown in different color shades which so-called as "Gibraltar Desert DPM" was released as well"

Cool commercial smock ,it's the sort of thing I regularly see on ebay ,generally described as "SAS" or MOD smock, the label is not UK MOD,but either way ,very nice piece nevertheless, it would be interesting to find out where it made etc, nice one Mate Wink
