CCE Jacket- Questions about patches, and manafacturer !

HI Guys.

My first question about this CCE Jacket is that on each arm there is a Patch ghost, and I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas about what patches would have been originally sewn on.

The idea is ,that if I can get some ID,I will try and replace the patches and complete this jacket,thanks in advance guys

My second question is why French jackets were made in Spain, the person I got this Jacket off,told me it was Spanish ( due to the label) I knew at the time is was French,but I don't why it is spanish made??

Why not!
For that I have understand Spanish manufacturer Mageco build his product in China

Just received my first French CCE jacket this week from Steve; it has the same tags as yours.

I still haven't worked out the purpose of the camo-coloured flap of cloth that buttons across the neck under the collar...it makes it look like the wearer has on a CCE t-shirt.

Sounds cool Ben, once you start on the "French" road there is no going back mate, I really look forward to seeing what you got mate, I'm in the process of sourcing some patches to refurbish mine, if I manage to get some spares I will send you some for yours

I have a theory the flap is to stop the elements blowing through, other than that I can't see why else it would be there

This may be an old thread, but it definitely is still relevant.

Recently acquired a well used CCE set that lacks  insignia, but has velcro panels where patches should be.  Already had a fairly good idea which patches could be used , but this thread makes it much easier.
