WANTED: Latvian NBS2006 Digital Camouflage Empty WANTED: Latvian NBS2006 Digital Camouflage

    Post by Camo_fiend Tue Apr 05, 2011 11:00 pm

I know this is a long shot affraid but I'm going to try and exhaust every available outlet to source this uniform.
I've been looking for an NBS2006-pattern uniform since about 2008 when I first became aware of its use.

Looking for the uniform in size equivalent to a small/reg as this one's DEFINITELY going on the (yet to be clothed Laughing ) display dummy if I can get a hold of it. I know it's a fairly rare uniform, but I'm not looking to pay an arm and a leg for it. I would be willing to trade an item on top of payment if that helps to alleviate the cost for the uniform.

I know this is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but I figured I'd ask. Here's a photo for reference:

WANTED: Latvian NBS2006 Digital Camouflage 1419

    Cheers all.
    Ben

Save up your pennies for this one Very Happy I saw a recent issue Ripstop set sell for $800. Crazy assed price as I've bought two of these for far less than that.

Note that there are three basic types:

    1. Prototype (as you pictured). Not sure if it was actually produced in quantity
    2. Soft cotton, a couple of different rank configurations
    3. Ripstop

Did I read that correctly that you've bought two? Or that you would've bought two for less than that? I'm still half-asleep, even now. Laughing

I have noticed the different configurations of the uniforms. Ripstop seems to be the most common style issued.

After digging around some more, I stumbled on an airsoft site (the airsoft commandos have a fixation with the pattern) and I found some airsofter in Russia who'd outfitted his whole team in them, with pictures, (how he got the uniforms I've no idea) so I took a shot in the dark and emailed him. He says he can secure me a set for $300... what do you guys think? I know it's a bit cheaper than the one from eBay, but it still seems a bit high to me. Not to mention sketchy, seeing as native Latvians can't get them, but some guy in Russia can? scratch
Why can't this uniform be easier to find?!? lol!

I purchased two sets, at different times, from two different sellers in Latvia. IIRC I paid about $250 for each. They are of the smooth type and were in very good used condition. Got a set of GoreTex as well, but that was new and more expensive. The spare set and the GoreTex went off to another collector friend.

I'd be very, very leery of the Russian offer. $300 is fair, but I'd want to see details of those uniforms before assuming they are legit. These things are HIGHLY controlled and it seems... questionable that he managed to get enough to outfit an Airsoft team. Of course anything is possible, but skepticism should run high. Especially that he can get even more.

You've seen the pictures of these guys, right? Are you ABSOLUTELY sure they are the real uniforms? Russians are knocking off Finnish stuff and I can see them doing the same for Latvian.

Here's the photo section of his site: http://latbat.ru/index.pl?page=photo

Their uniforms look legit to me, from what I've researched on their design and cut. He said they source them from a "distributor in Latvia". If they're knockoffs, they appear to be well-done ones.

Do you still have contact information from the seller(s) in Latvia, or were they lucky finds on eBay?

Thanks for the link. Well, it's tough to say due to the small size of the pics and the tons of junk these guys are wearing, but I do not see anything that is inconsistent with genuine issue. So maybe this guy DOES have some sort of fantastic connection. Seems really hard to believe that it's an active connection, but hey... stranger things have been known to happen.

I'm seeing a bit more of this stuff on the forum, so it appears to slowly be circulating.

I'd be eternally grateful for any information on a source, or where to begin looking. Thanks! Very Happy
