Bophuthatswana SWATF Vest??

Amongst some other random British bits was this vest that puzzled me as it looked similar to a SADF M83 vest but in green and after a Google search brought me here think it may be an Bophuthatswana SWATF Vest.

No labels or any markings that i can see.

Yep, that's a Bophuthatswana Pattern 83 assault vest. There is also a chest rig and backpack that goes with the set.

FYI these things would have been no where near SWA, as they were purely used by the Homeland forces which saw no action on the Border.

Cheers Mike,a pretty unusual item to find in the UK i would think as ive never ever heard or seen of them before i found this forum so well chuffed.

I suppose the backpack would be nice to complete it but not 100% sure if ill be keeping it as it came to me amongst some other stuff.

To be 1000% Mark until the other day i had no idea what it was let alone what its worth.

It doesnt fit in to the stuff I collect so it could definitely go if i had an idea of its value.

It came with some British Army PLCE webbing so no idea how it ended up in the UK

This is now surplus to my requirements so open to offers if anyone interested in it.

Here's mine. I got it for $20 off some airsofter who had no idea what it was.

It's a little rough (one strap is missing on one of the canteen pockets at the back) , but I can't complain much due to the price.
