Interesting tidbit of info... this is the same exact pattern as Czech Jelici (Rain) camo used from the early 1960s until the 1980s. When I say "exact" I mean exact, not similar. The only difference is the Bulgarians were kind enough to let us see it instead of making it a background pattern

Looks like a pretty standard Wool Cold Weather garrison cap with the fold down ear-flaps to me.

Under the "Maskahalat Frog Skin" like Rusians ,Bulgarian army wear a Winter combat uniform( brown wool) trough the winter and summer Green uniform (like rusian Gymnasterka).

The four guys in the first of the latest pictures, looks like they aren't enjoying having their picture taken one bit, or are they lined up to be shot perhaps? 
The frogskin suits are in my top 10 of great gear, and I even find the quality in sewing and construction to be rather high.
