They were cheap and was hoping they were BGS that i could use for one of my camo jackets.

I know that somewhere is a downloadable file that contains a lot of info about recent German uniforms right from the military itself but I can't seem to find it.
EDIT: I believe they are West German because of the fact that the border around the top is thinner where as East German ones are a lot wider.

Excellent-West German is a good start for me
Even better result if they turn out to be BGS and are suitable for a camo jacket

Take a look at the old Guido Rosignoli book Army Badges and Insignia Since 1945, copyright 1973. Plate 60 shows several similar shoulder boards on which are added pips and wreaths to show rank. I'm pretty sure those are Bundeswehr Infantry (green). If you are interested in more, send me a message and we can work a trade.
