Re: commercial tag?
I can't say if the Brits switched tags lately, or ever, but usually shiny plastic-like green tags are a sign of a Chinese knockoff. It's a red flag at least. A pic of the item could help, too.

Re: commercial tag?
It doesn't look like the proper material to be a windproof... the windproofs are made of a tightly-woven cotton material, but the fabric in this picture looks like a twill material of some sort, similar to the poly-cotton combat uniform.

Re: commercial tag?
Right...the un usual label material has really got me stumped.I had this since last year.Don`t want to say it`s an early gabardine windproof smock till confirmed.Got it mint and in "original" package.Quality is topnotch unlike typical china made knock offs.More photos:

Re: commercial tag?
I wouldn't be surprised if it was real and that construction of the garment or perhaps even just the tag was contracted offshore. This seems to be the norm these days.

Re: commercial tag?
I have desert jackets in that cut that aren't in the windproof fabric, so that doesn't bother me. And it is entirely possible the tags were contracted off shore or what not. Everybody's looking to save money these days.
The control tag (with the barcode) looks like a typical military inventory tag. Given all the pieces of information here, I'd guess it's legit and the tag is just "odd".
Having said that, quality is no longer a good indication of being a "knock off". I have Pakistani made CADPAT Arid suits here that are every bit as good as the ones made in Canada. Not just all the expensive extras on it, but the quality of the work. And China is making things for a fair number of the NATO countries these days, so the factories are definitely capable of doing top notch work.

Re: commercial tag?
I have the answer to settle all these theories.....google Cooneen watts and stone, and you will discover that these guys manafacturer kit for Armed forces and The Police, so yes in a sense it is " commercial", but sanctioned by ISO /MOD standards.. therefore not a chinese knock off commercial piece ( unless of course they subcontract the machining out to the Chinese of course)
