Re: Romanian camo stuff
Excellent collection!! These are very hard to find now a days. I have three unissued sets (one leaf, two spot) and two hats (one of each), along with at least one service shirt (spot). But sadly no winter parkas. I didn't even know gloves existed until today!
I love all the color variations.
Steve
P.S. Crna Strela, I recognize some of your items from an auction on eBay. January of 2010, I think. I'm pretty sure I was bidding on them, so it's nice to see they got a very nice home

Re: Romanian camo stuff
Thank you so much!
This is one of my main field of interest and I worked hard to get all these pieces. Soon I will have some items more and I will show you them.
CollectingSteve, actually I've never bought romanian stuff on ebay so I wasn't the guy who stole you the set :-). So the stuff is now in another home :-).
PS: Please, post pictures of yours! I'm curious!
Here my M90 sets (I had post them in another topic, but maybe here it's better):

Re: Romanian camo stuff
Congratulations Gilles! There is now another uniform you have that I need to find for myself (but don't think I will find!)
Do you know what years this uniform was used?

Re: Romanian camo stuff
Very very nice set Gilles, congrats.
Steve, this camouflage belongs to the "Jandarmeria Română", which is the romanian gendarmerie, and it's the urban version of the M90 pattern.
For my knowledge this camouflage is still in use, but it seems to me that romanian police is slowly replacing it with black or blue uniforms.
The set here above, for its colors, looks to me not so recent.
Curiosity: in the action movie "Diplomatic Siege" (set in Bucharest) with Peter Weller, there are some scenes with many policemen of the romanian gendarmery with this nice camouflage .
Here there are some photos, I guess from the last years:

Wow, very impressive collection, I haven't even seen the most basic and common Romanian uniforms for sale in almost 2 years of collecting.

Re: Romanian camo stuff
Thanks for more of the blue uniform pictures! I have some on my harddrive and the earliest is from a parade in 2004. There was a set on eBay (Keith from Hong Kong) back in 2008. I think that's the only one I saw up on eBay.
Raff, there was a VERY brief time when Romanian uniforms were on eBay. There were two sellers who had a bunch. I think some people held off because the prices weren't dirt cheap and they figured waiting would mean lower prices. However, the sellers stopped and I've hardly seen any since then. Just pieces here and there. I really wish I had the field jackets and badging.

Re: Romanian camo stuff
These are very unique uniforms. The Md. 1993 pattern seems to go from green to brown as production progressed with 1996 examples being a very tan base colour.

Re: Romanian camo stuff
I don't think there's anything specific about the colorations. Check the pics above... crazy amounts of variations even when brand new. Used ones are even more diverse. Same for both Spot and Leaf type.

Re: Romanian camo stuff
I fell over this heavy and fully thermo lined set, and would not have known what it was, were it not for you fine gentlemen! Thank you!
Sorry about the fuzzy pictures, the high grade camera is not feeling well...
But are these sets rare enough to be of any trade or monetary value, please? I'm not overly keen on blue or 'urban' camo's myself.
