    Leader Patches Empty Leader Patches

These patches would be worn on your left sleeve instead of an ISAF patch. It has glint tape so you can quickly Identify leaders at night. There is a way to decode these patches, but I do not think it would be prudent to publish this information on a public board.

These came from a friend of mine who wore these when deployed with the 173rd Airborne ro Afghanistan.

Im seeing a lot of these patches and Im wondering what they stand for...is it used to identify units, platoon, squad or whatever...I understand that everything seen in a uniform stands for something like qualification badges, unit patch etc...can anyone please give me an idea what this patches stands for or where it used...I dont need to know every detail but at least an idea about it will suffice...TIA!
