Re: COSAC Commando Beret.
Hi I think this school became CIGS, they kept same patch just changed the letters on top
CIGS- means "centro de instrução de guerra na selva" - this is one of the top jungle warfare schools in the world, I'm not sure when the names were changed, but it's probably in the early 80's if not in the 70's.
Nice old beret, the crest is quite rare - great piece, if you need an uniform to go along let me know and I can help you out
Cheers
Danilo

Re: COSAC Commando Beret.
Just to complete the information regarding you beret crest.
COSAC means - centro de operações na selva e ações de comandos - jungle operations center and commando actions - they were actually introduced in 1964 under the CIGS name, in 1970 to 1978 they were renamed COSAC, where their training tactics changed, they added a commando course until they decided to have a commando school separated from the jungle school, so they went back to the original name.
Hope I was able to help
Cheers
