Pattern 50 Trousers Empty Pattern 50 Trousers

Post by loski Fri Dec 09, 2011 6:49 am

I picked up what I beleive to be a pair of P 50 trousers. On the front are two side pockets and a field dressing pocket. On the rear one buttoned down pocket and on the sides size adjusting straps plus one map pocket on the left leg. Provision for drawcords is also made by eyelets in the turn up at the bottom of the legs. Of intrest is the button and zip fly.they have had a few small repairs and the lable is washed out as to size the fit my 40in waist.

Yes, they are "trousers, combat, sateeen". First pattern of combat trousers - never designated 1950 pattern they were first issued in the autumn of 1951. Followed (briefly) by 1952 pattern then 1953 pattern which became the standard pattern.
