    Ok folks,

I have 2 types of the older cold weather hat, but which is the older of the 2? One just has a size label that says large, the other one says medium(7 to 7 1/4)

The one on the left is the older one, it has the P68 Print and a longer visors, its also smaller than the P85 one I believe.

Nothing to do with the print but as Tommo correctly said the visor was larger on the earlier caps with a smaller visor on later ones.

I was led to believe for years(not knowing about the differences in visor sizes) that the quilted liner type was the earlier and the fake fur lined the later but talking to a Falklands vet he seems to recall both were on issue at the time with most squaddies hating the fur lined versions as they used to itch like hell Shocked

I've used both types and must say that I agree with Gulf91 the quilted type knocks spots off the fur type, I sold my quilted one, the fur one was way too hot
