The Soviet style sniper/scout oversuit was emulated by pretty much all the Warsaw Pact nations. Even the Yugoslavs had a suit which could be said to have derived from the Soviet model. I think it is likely genuine Bulgarian military issue from late 1940s or early 1950s because Bulgaria is the only Warsaw Pact nation to use a splinter pattern.

Yes, fortunately the Polish splinter is a very different design.

Steve, I'm partial to what you are saying. But I just noticed that this thing doesn't appear to have a hood. I need to get my hands on this thing!

This is true, Poland did use a Splinter pattern. And in a sniper/scout suit as well. However, the Bulgarian interpretation of Splinter is quite different from German, and the Polish set is very similar to German. Which means I don't think this has anything to do with Poland.

Maybe there was a time when Warsaw Pact thought about adopting similar sniper/scout suits?

Good luck finding a hood Very Happy
