NAVY SEALS IN THE SOMALI PIRATE hostage situation Empty NAVY SEALS IN THE SOMALI PIRATE hostage situation

    Post by bond007a1 Sat Apr 11, 2009 3:39 pm

I have been watching Fox news coverage of the Maersk Alabama coming into port in Kenya. They showed the US Navy SEALs or at least 4 of them....walking about carrying their rather large machine guns..and ALL of them were wearing 3 colour desert camouflage....3 had jackets & trousers...1 just had the trousers on with some unidentified shirt. While obviously there is no real need for camouflage on board a freighter in the ocean...but the interesting part was they are STILL utilizing the desert pattern....not the ACU...So it will STILL be possible to find desert uniforms CURRENTLY used by SEAL members or possibly other SF units...so apparently the desert camo is NOT dead just yet....unfortunately I have not found any still photos of them yet...but I will keep trying...

No it isn't. I talked to a 7th SFG guy in late March and he said they still use DCUs and BDUs with pockets on the sleeves in Afghanistan. Basically he said, "The Government lets us wear whatever we want".

It was also mentioned today that the SEALs parachuted into the ocean to join up with the destroyer...just an interesting bit of trivia...and also there was apparently only 4 that escorted the Maersk into Kenya..
