    Hi Guys.

Here's some my Para smocks, for you to comment on,thanks for looking. Wink

First one up is fairly beaten up, has Pen pocket and FFD pocket on sleeves, and another pocket sewn onto the front, maybe for a compass, there's a remnant of a TRF, and is clearly marked by it's previous owner.

This one appears to have two previous owners, a Meredith and a Dann, as well as Slammin Vinyl Question Question

Thanks B20 , you've made my day about the 1 Para smock, I paid £35 and got it from a local surplus shop, well chuffed as you've Id'd it as Falklands issue potentially Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks kammo-man, glad you like them Mate Wink

Guys Any ideas on why a smock would be issued to two different sqauddies, to me this seems odd, the only thing along these lines I am aware of is TA handing their kit back in, and being reissued to the next victim...I assume the 1 para smock was not a TA issued piece of kit Question Question

However some field use only smocks could have them removed by the owner if not needed, like your not an officer.

I have some tropical jackets done this way, the owner then sewn the epaulettes to the front like s95 stuff.

Was under the impression that the sizing labels changed from the old Size 1,2,3 etc to the NATO type AFTER the Falklands????

It's pre - 1984 and it's early as the 1984 stuff used the cloth found on the jackets that started this thread. I'd guess this as 81/82 , mind this is only a guess. Just the jacket using the early features such as the bottle green zipper.

And £35 WOW one sold on eBay last night that was size 5 for £137 , more than a denison !

Also the one that the start of this thread would have been used very late 80's or early 90's. The owners army number 247xxxxxx , my number was 249xxxxx issued to me in 1994.

My number was 247***** Date of enlistment was 1984.

Sometimes smocks get a second name as someone will buy a spare from a surplus shop and re-name it. Simple as that. And yes, a lot of clothing was also re-issued during basic in the TA.
