Air Force Holster system

J.M.Buchheimer Holster for the S&W Model 15 Combat Masterpiece .38 Special. These Holsters were widely used by all branches in Vietnam and could be attached to a pistol belt , but were only officially issued by the Air Force .
The pieces of this set vary in date from 1961-1964 and as I was doing some research , found pics of everybody from Army Helo crews to tunnel rats using this holster and .38's, read som very interesting veteran accounts of what handguns they carried , and how they would get ammo for some of them , including family members stashing boxes of ammo in loafs of bread sent in care packages LOL.

You don't disappoint. Altogether, it is a very menacing rig. My dad told me that the aircrews carried revolvers not just as survival pieces, but also as guaranteed-not-to-jam suicide-guns, too.

Rather morbid, but... it is what it is, right?

Then again, that could just be snopes material.

Either way, lookin' pretty bad there.
