Here is the SF lightweight suit. These were made for a very short period and primarily issued to SF before they got all fashion conscious and went multicam. Smile

They seem to be made of a different material to the S95 stuff. Feels like gaberdine.
    The shirt.
Standard Canadian , slotted buttons and the shirt has a zipper as well as the buttons - just the like the jungle shirts. They also have very large elbow reinforcement patches - they cover half the lower arm. They also have a mesh strip as the bottom bellow of the chest pockets. There is also a small pocket on top of the front left pocket with a small button closing it. Likely for a compass.

They feel very lightweight (as the name implies Smile ) and have a quality feel to them that I haven't felt has been in British combat clothing since the 1970's.

170/104 fits my 175/112 frame nicely. So a US large reg I think.

    The trousers / pants
Same material, same buttons and same quality feel to them.
They also have the mesh at the bottom of the leg pockets. Button and drawcord waist and zipper fly.
Trousers are 32" inside leg, 36-38 waist and 40-42 hips. US large reg again.

Neglected to mention that the stitching you see at the top of the chest pockets holds loops of para cord to tie the things in the pockets to.

There is also a three pen pocket in each of the chest pockets too.

Hi Jason, looking to trade them as a set. Preferably with the wind proof smock and a boonie.

Can't really say what I'm after til something is offered to me ( preferably by PM as I don't want to turn this thread into one better off on the for sale/trade section).

I really only wrote this thread to put them out there for collector info.

    Dave,

PM sent about a possible trade. But I have a question. That round ink stamp over the label... I've been wondering what it is for. My theory at the moment is it is a quality control rejection stamp because that's the only time I've noticed it. I've seen US military items have ink stamps on their labels for rejections, but in this case a 3 digit code which specifies the reason for rejection. Is that the case with this round UK stamp?

I'm not 100% sure Steve but i don't think it is as this came from a Blade at 22 HQ, Hereford. I'll look into it though. Certainly there is nothing 'seconds' about it at all.

    PM responded to too.
