ARVN Ranger Beret Empty ARVN Ranger Beret

Post by CollectinSteve Mon Jun 18, 2012 12:18 am

I have this beret and I know for sure the beret is a fake. I assume the same is true for the badge. But I suppose there's a possibility of the badge being real and someone just stuck it on the first maroon beret they could find. Any opinions?

Badge does not look real. It is hard to explain, but it looks post-war made.

Thanks!! I figured it was a repro on a bad beret, but sometimes you get lucky and someone put a good badge on a bad item.

I also know what you mean about "hard to explain". Sometimes it's easy to explain why something doesn't feel right, other times it's just a vibe.

This and the THAI-ARVN tiger berets were floating around at the same time ...........
many took a hit on them both ........then the excitement wore off and everyone called each other up with the "good" news and it was like "you just got one as well " ?
ah the old days before the internet !
