Re: Afghan or ?
I've seen no pictures of the "Chinese style" uniform used in Afghanistan. The few pictures where I can see details show a more-or-less BDU style uniform. However, I'd be shocked if the the cloth is not leftover from Northern Alliance contracts. At least the early PLA style uniforms. I've seen lighter variants since, some manufactured for ROTHCO, that probably were made long after the pattern was out of use in Afghanistan.

Re: Afghan or ?
Yup, that's the type that was quite common for a while. I've got one and probably had 2 others float through my hands. It's unclear if these Chinese versions existed first and the Northern Alliance (and later Mozambique) bought into it. Check this post out:

Since it's much cheaper to purchase uniforms using a camo pattern already printed, rather than a custom job, I'd guess the Chinese made stuff for the commercial market first. That would mean the progression could be Chinese "fantasy camo", then Northern Alliance, then the ROTHCO "Harley" sets, then Mozambique.
