Nice sets of webbing
Very nice sets of webbing you have there, both are the first patterns of DPM webbing when it replaced the Vietnam type green canvas webb gear in around 1999-2001 and is the correct type used for the 1999 - 2001 East Timor deployments and onwards, when I get a bit more sparetime I'll post some pics showing the difference from the 1st type and the current stuff.

Some more of NZDF Webbing
Top, modified custom webbing in use mid to late 90s before the new belt order.
Center, Latest issue belt order.
Bottom, Timor issue with 2 new mag pouches.
mix of both types of webbing
Old issue ALICE Pack
New ALICE highly Modified(my pack)
Latest Modular Vest
Would consider trades for the Old Alice, loose webbing, Modular vest, Modified belt order and I have a new alice but the claymore pouch on top is missing.

I'm presuming you actually mean Pattern 1958 webbing. As far as I know it was never issued to NZ forces (or Australian forces for that matter) but individual items or whole webbing sets may have been utilised by individual soldiers to supplement or replace their own issued webbing. I, myself, wore some Patt. 58 items in the early 80's as it was superior (in my opinion) to the Australian webbing I was issued with at the time.
@ onward288,
Impressive selection of NZ webbing variants you have there! Just a question on the chest rig in your last set of photos ... although it looks very similar to the Brit issue chest rig, is that NZ manufactured? As NZ and UK DPM look somewhat similar - what's the official army policy on wearing Brit gear? Is Brit gear regarded as more 'ally' then NZ items? Has any NZ'er ever turned up wearing solely Brit issue uniform and webbing?

Hey mate cheers its a NZSAS chest rig and yes once Soldier 95 rigs and webbing came out most of the more Ally guys used them with tropical brit uniforms especially SAS and Recon patrols i was once called the Kiwi long looker by the CO of 1 RNZIR while doing Swift Eagle 96 as i had Brit tropicals a Arktis chest rig and a PLCE bergen. Officially it has been NZ only for a number of years but has only recently been enforced.

Yeah, it is a nicely made bit of kit.
Were these used in Timor or were they already phased out by that stage?

It's used primary for Armoured/vehicle crewman in tight spaces like the turret etc........ Commonly called "Tankie Bra's" to carry the bare minimum essentials - 1 or 2 IW mags a P226 mag and what not. Also worn by gear queers who can get their hands on them.
