my latest pickup a czech tanker helmet im not sure helmet seems the right term but anyway ,ive heard these are identical to soviet tanker helmet it seems well made with good quality materials the connections are present as well as the throat microphones im just wondering if anybody can tell me the date of manufacture from the ink stamp label im not sure if 1981 or 1991

Hmmm,as I said on a different post James,not up to speed with Soviet stuff so wondering now if it is Soviet or indeed Czech made?????

Definitely Czech. No Cyrillic, standard Czech crossed swords stamp (that does it right there), Czech sizing specs, etc. Appears to be made in 1991.

many thanks steve for confirming the identity and looking at date stamp on this helmet apart from labeling is there anything else that would set it apart from its soviet version

Like so many immediate post-Communist items, there's very little difference from the Soviet inspired kit used during the Cold War. This style of helmet, however, is still pretty popular. Even the West Germans used, and still use, a similar style helmet.
